Photographs of the solar system can be quite wonderful to look at. I can remember when our space program was active in flying to the moon, one of the highlights was when it was all over being able to look at the pictures they took on they missions. The Hubble Space Telescope has also redefined how we look at what lies beyond our atmosphere. Today’s Family First Site is one that helps refine that vision.

Called Astronomy Picture of the Day, this is a site by the National Areonautics and Space Administration (NASA) that showcases those wonderful pictures of outer space. Here you can find all sorts of photos, from the first rocket launch from Cape Canaveral (pre-Kennedy Space Center), to photos of the Moon and Earth by the Apollo astronauts. But there are also artists conception pictures, such as one of how the planet Saturn will look from it’s moon Titan, after the European Space Agency lands a probe there in 2004. There are hundreds of pictures here, along with explanations of the significance of them, and a short history of the picture.

So stop by and have a look see. It is a fascinating site, truly a benefit from our space program.
